Conoco Phillips Wood River Refinery

The project scope for Corrigan Company included:

  • Steam tracing for process and utility piping in the new sulfur block unit at the Wood River Refinery
  • Estimated 270,000 ft of 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 inch bare and pre-insulated stainless steel tubing (that is more than 50 miles of tube)
  • The tubing was installed from manifolds to use points on piping and equipment
  • There were 211 steam manifolds and 205 condensate manifolds with approximately 4,000 total taps utilized

The project includes an estimated 146,000 man hours with a peak of 140 pipefitters employed installing steam trace tubing.  Two shifts were utilized for 4 months of the project.
